WORK IT

Ok ladies, summer is fast approaching. For some, this means bikini crunch time, for Glamazon, this means GLAMfit is launching soon (YAY). To help you get in shape over the next few weeks we have done some research and found the most effective workouts.

We encourage you give these a try and remember, nothing happens overnight, building muscle and burning fat is a gradual process. Don't give up if you don't see results instantly and trust the exercise fairies when they say that perseverance and consistency is key! Find out what works best for you (your favourite routine) and keep going until you see your desired results!

Fitness:

Tabata:

Tabata is an exercise that was developed for Japanese Olympians and is scientifically proven to increase fitness levels and burn fat.

To do:

Pick a cardio activity e.g running, jump rope, biking etc.

Go as hard as your can for 20 seconds (100% intensity). Rest for 10 seconds (or do squats etc.). Repeat 7 more times (total 8 times = total 4 mins).

YOU WILL FEEL IT. YOU WILL SEE RESULTS. TRUST ME.

Do this as often as you can.

Muscle:

Reformer Pilates:

Reformer Pilates is essentially normal Pilates exercises but with added resistance via springs (which form part of the reformer machine). Reformer helps with overall strength, flexibility, coordination and balance.

Our favourite studio is KX Pilates: http://kxpilates.com.au/. I recommend going 2 times a week!

Weight training:

Weight training is my personal favourite because you can do these exercises anywhere and if done often (3 times a week) will leave you nice and toned (which is important as strong is the new sexy ;)).

30 min workout:

- 5 min carido.

Reverse lunges on each leg (15 each leg).

Lat pull downs/TRX rows/chin ups.
